Now I know that the title of the performance is not a clever word game but a spoiler: you are now here/you are nowhere. YOUARENOWHERE is theatre that creates and defies audience’s expectations, even the most basic as in ‘I am audience’.
Like in Buñuel’s The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, Andrew Schneider’s performance creates an imaginary space in which nothing is ever make believe. This is why it gives vertigo. It had been a long time since theatre left me so elated and confused.
